Shoes ruined in Belfast

Within the past week i have damaged two pairs of shoes (1 boots, 1 shoes) on the city centre streets by getting my heel caught in the gapping holes between paving slabs.
Do I have to suck this up or is there any liability with another party (eg Belfast city council, DOE etc).
Thanks

Yup unfortunately you do have to suck it up. But while we're ranting I'm fed up with ending up walking through mud when walking past building sites, I can't seem to avoid skiting my trousers with mud (or even worse trailing them in it) which looks terrible. Get a hose!!0

Jinja, contact your local CAB office, whether you've injured yourself or your belonging have gotten damaged, the city council owes you a duty of care as they are responsible for maintaining the pavements.
If you know exactly where you've damaged your shoes, take photos from several angles and measure the gap/depth of hole/cracks. Also if outside a business etc, find out if anyone else has damaged their footwear or if its been reported to the council to get repaired!
If CAB think you've a case...then follow it up and let us know how you get on!
Good luck!0 -
i hate it when its raining and you step on a wobbly slab and you end up soaked - ohhh it makes me very mad - the state of the footpaths are really unacceptable - not to mention the state of the roads - ohh dont get me started lolComp Wins 2011 : Cant wait to start listing everything:j:j:j0
