Just received this from paypal -

It has come to our attention that you may be the recipient of
potentially unauthorised funds. We have initiated an investigation into this
event. In the meantime, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds in
question until the investigation is complete. This temporary hold will
show as a deduction in your available balance. In the meantime, you are
free to continue transacting using your PayPal account.

anybody have experience of these?

Ive sent the goods, where do i stand?? :(

Call me alarmist but that sounds a lot like a scam to me,heard a few of these recently esp with higher priced goods,it all seems good until a couple of days later and an email like yours arrives,I sincerely wish you the best of luck with it

Me thinks you perhaps may have been scammed.

If this is genuine (log into your paypal account NOT via any link in that email!!!) and see if their claims are true.

If so, you have probably lost the goods and money.

Looks like they may have used a stolen credit card. If you sent to a confirmed address by a trackable method you should get your money back.

Yep, welcome to the world of paypal. Be prepared to be totally ignored and get used to emails that are automated and do not answer your question or help in anyway.

    Say goodbye to your money.

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago. on a £28 game. the buyer is responding to my emails and says he's trying to sort it out with paypal and is getting !!!!!! off about it all. understandably i'm cheesed off too as he has the game. he says the money has left his account, but since it's been taken back from mine, we're both in limbo. i'm being patient with him since his replied to all my emails and since paypal have a habit of freezing peoples accounts randomly he could be telling the truth. not much i can do at the minute. try contacting the buyer. you could use his addy to get his phone number if he doesn't reply to emails.
seems to be happening a lot lately. i think it's paypal and not your buyer

Proof of posting is not a trackable method. It just covers you for £30 if the item gets lost in the post.
