Charged Today - Please Help

Hello there,

I have been reading for a while about the bank charges. Today I have a letter from the bank saying that due to having to use an uplanned overdraft I will be charged £15 pounds and 6 pound for every day Im overdrawn. I have already got myself back in credit, as soon as I found out, appox 30 hours after going 12 pound overdrawn,

Is there anyway I can make sure the bank dont charge me, cos as soon as they do, ill be overdrawn again!

Thanks

  • Hi your best bet is to telephone the bank and ask them to waive the fee, explain that you rectified the problem as soon as you were aware of being overdrawn. The 15 pound charge may come out (if they don't stop it) on a certain day of the month, have they already taken the 8 pounds?
  • Hi, i'd phone them and if this is the first lot of charges they may take them off for you. I recently went overdrawn for just a day, they were going to charge me two lots of fees which amounted to around £60. Luckily the woman on the phone said as it was the first time it had happened they would waive the fees this time. I was so relieved, always worth a call to see. Good luck.
