What to do in empty house?

Any advice most welcome! - my mother in law died last month and we are planning to do up the house a bit and then rent it out. There is a BT line etc. there, and to be honest we wont need a phone line there till someone rents it out. Do we keep the line rental going with BT or switch to someone else? Is there a "non-occupied" tariff? Or should we just cancel BT and leave the house "un-phoned" till someone wnats to live there? Probably daft questions, but really not sure what to do...Thanks people :O)

If you keep the phone live you will save your tenant the cost of reconnecting the line.
Don't change any account details as that could mean entering a new minimum term contract.
So the decision is yours - save yourself some money by cancelling, or just leave it as it is and pay the bills on behalf of the deceased to save the tenant some money when they finally arrive.0 -
Thanks Quentin, will probably keep it live and see if BT do any "low user" rates or owt like that.0
