Lemon jelly? That counts as fruit in my house, so no. :p

 I might go and buy one though. Would one be enough for a 200g tin? :)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I did a romantic combination St. Valentines Day/Chinese New Year meal this year, for a certain lady of my aquaintance, with these in the dessert.

The tin of lychees (which symbolise love, as they are heart-shaped), a tin of peaches (symbolising long life, as peach trees live for a long time) and a tin of Mandarin oranges (which symbolise wealth, as they're gold coloured).

Put the fruit into a bowl, with the juice of a lime to stop them oxidising, whilst you reduce down the syrup from the tins with the zest from the lime. The syrup was brilliant - sweet, of course, but also sharp from the lime zest.

I can't see any reason why this shouldn't work with just the lychees.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
