What do people on here think about paying for web promotion.

There seems to be a lot of companies out there that make all sorts of promises to help releive you of some of your profits.

Does it work?

Well I wouldnt pay as for example..

I uploaded my site late December 05 to google and its Now the 4th site down
on the second page of a UK search, also its the only advertising Ive done as
its on the back burner and I consider that to be doing quite well with little intervention or thought from me.

I have a fair few sites - I employ the SEO I have learnt over a few years and I get many #1 listings on Google and Yahoo. I also have some page 1 listings on some very competitive keywords on Yahoo.

I would definately not buy in the service. There are enough forums and SEO tip sites around to do this successfully yourself.
