I'm planning to go on holiday with my boyfriend late June/early July.
Since it's the first time I'll have organised my own holiday (eek!) I was planning on getting a package holiday, since I'm a bit nervous doing it!
Looking at them though, they're more expensive (obviously) than booking flights/hotel separately.
Is it worth getting a package, for the security? Or would I be better off doing it all myself?

Depends on where you want to go. Sometimes packages are cheaper. When are you looking at going, where, budget and what sort of resort?0

Depends where you are going - prices for 'flight + hotel' this year seem to be similar to, or higher than package prices due to the weakening of the pound, as package prices are often secured at last year's exchange rates.
Also don't forget you get transfers and rep services in with the package price.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

When: Anytime after 22nd June.
Where: Majorca, from Humberside.
Budget: £200 ish
Not bothered where we stay.
Looking at 7 nights if we can get it for £200 (doubtful) if not then 3.
We need the transfers to/from the airport since we're 18 (unless you know any car rental companies which hire out to 18 year olds!)
Thanks0 -
My sister always books everything direct herself and she's a very seasoned traveller. She's had some fantastic holidays and has never had any problems.
If you're lacking in confidence it might be best to start small and gain experience. Whatever you decide have a lovely time.0 -
I think the issue you will have is wanting to fly from Humberside. You can only go on 7/14 night package holidays from there. Cheapest I found is on thomson.co.uk is £400 for a package. Can you get to other airports which might have cheaper flights or operte no frills irlines0

Doncaster Sheffield would be OK, and Leeds Bradford at a stretch.
I'll have another look.
(thanks for being nice to me - I can be really dumb sometimes!)

How about Manchester? There is a good (24hr) train service from the Humberside area direct to the airport, and you would have much more choice, much greater availability, and quite possibly lower prices.0 -
£200? You're pushing it there. Unless you want to just stay for one night then come home again.
You could do worse than to look at https://www.easyjet.com https://www.jet2.com https://www.ryanair.com and https://www.hotels.com and put together a reasonable looking package of seperates then see how that compares to the travel agents.
Or there's the old fashioned way of actually going into a travel agents in person! (Weird)0
