Help Figuring Out Cardreader Login For Barclays?

Hi,

This might be a silly question, but i'm trying to use a card reader for the first time with my Barclays online account but cant see any way of actually using it. From what i've read, on step 2 of the log in screen there should be some way to select or activate the card reader, but i cant see it anywhere.

Has anyone else been through this and can help?

Thanks

  • Stick your card in and it should turn on automatically, then just press the identify button.

If it doesn't turn on when you stick your card in then you've got a defective one, return it!
  • Thanks Richard,

I can do that but im not sure where to actually enter anything on the online screens, i dont see any options to select to activate it.

    cheers
  • Have you looked here, and watched the demo?

Are you saing you can still log into your online Barclays account without the card reader?

If not, you shouldn't need to activate it, that should've occured before you received it, as I recall.

When you go to Barclays online and go to log-in it should tell you about the card reader there, it mentions it on the same screen you have to enter your membership number on. Once you go past that screen, then the card reader screen should appear.

I haven't got a Barclays, but the Nationwide one has a slip of cellophane in the battery compartment to prevent it switching on in-transit and wasting the batteries. You have to remove it so that the little electrons can flow around the place....

    Hi antispam,

Yes, i'm still able to log into the online account as i always used to, i have ordered a card reader for them and am still waiting for it to arrive but in the meantime i've borrowed a friends which will work anyway but i just dont see any option when i log in for me to use it. I need it activated because id like to transfer funds to another account at a different bank.

Maybe i need to call their online team for this one??
