I was speaking to a chap who tells me he got a free domestic energy monitor by asking SP for one. Does anyone know anything about this as i don't see anything on their website relating to this?

I don't know anything about Scottish Power offering one of those for free.

Could he have mistaken them for Scottish & Southern / Southern Electric who offer one for free? (an error I've made in the past :o )

I don't know if he's made an error (knowing him i doubt it). I won't see him again until next week at the earliest.

we got one of these free However the instructions are so vague so there is no way we can get it to do work so we have just binned it! If you want to know how much electricity you are using simply read the meter & take a note & multiply the cost per unit ( say 12pence) by the number of units used! Hey Presto! !
BTW these monitors use electricity themselves!

Not being funny, but why not phone SP and ask them?

Do you not trust the guy that told you about it?
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Have you tried phoning Scottish Power? It would probably take well in excess of an hour for someone to pick up the phone.
