Yes, it seems like you get a licence but then you basically make up the rules. It really is a nonsense of a licensing system. It's a government backed licence to print money. By the way Lee something that may interest you is that the Warning notice they stuck on my vehicle clearly states: 'A CHARGE OF £100 WILL BE ADDED FOR ANY DAMAGED CLAMPS' so this is the least they can offer you for their damage to your vehicle.

Hey Mpullen1, thought i would let you know, still not heard from shadow clampdown (uk) Ltd, so have now contacted the South London press and Southwark News. Southwark News seem really interested, esp as I have in theory been offered 25p (the cost of the call). The paper wants to run a article in next thursday's edition. The photographer wants to take a pic of me holding the £150.00 demand notice which was served on my car when i returned.

make sure you buy the next edition.

any more on your clamp as yet???

Incredibly annoying that the paper has reported this as a fine, however. And they have failed to take the opportunity to educate their readers about the private parking scam.

It's a pretty poor story, really.

    Shame.

But when there's a clamp on the car, you can't drive off and ignore the letters they send in the post...
