Question re cutting hours and potential redundancy

Hi
I have a question raised by a friend. She workes in the service industry and her job is at risk. Her boss asked would she consider taking a cut in hours. If she said yes, what impact would that have on future redundancy payments. She has worked with the same company for 15 years but would get the government uper limit if she were to be made redundant now as her current salary is above that

Same question my hubby worked in manufacturing for the same company for 25years and told yesterday they are going on 4 day week....
