Sky email

Hi
Is anyone on Sky email, are you having problems accessing your mail. I can log in to the Sky site but the page just goes blank when I click on email. It was working this morning?

Any ideas?

I have been trying for a few hours now, and tried logging on via sky.com but same here, only a blank screen.

Hubby checked his as well and it will not connect, so looks like a problem at sky's end.

Not sure if the workaround to this is mentioned in the link above, but it's also mentioned here:

This is only a workaround and you should put everything back once Sky have sorted out the problem. There also seems to be some doubt as to whether this is breaking T&Cs somewhere along the line. (Not sure how serious this doubt is - I tried it, it worked, and didn't think much more of it. But only fair to warn.)

No problems at all accessing pop.tools.sky.com or smtp.tools.sky.com today or yesterday.

That was via Thunderbird 3 beta.

Apparently the problem was something to do with Sky's DNS servers - I think these are the things that point your requests in the right direction :-\

Some people on the forum I linked to above were reporting they weren't having problems, and the explanation was because your computer was using a cached DNS (or something - I have no idea what I'm talking about ;-)

I was using Thunderbird latest (not beta) version last night and it wouldn't work, but the workaround did.
