Durham uni set to offer £2k grants

It says in the Guardian that some unis are going to help graduates when they leave uni and can't get a job eg internships or grants to stay at the uni.
Durham are planning to offer £2k grants to students who want to stay on to do further study. No other details yet!

I don't know too much about the government's intern scheme, but Durham University's scheme to give out £2,000 grants for postgraduate research is not new or unusual at all.
Most departments at good universities will have a few grants (around £1,000-£2,000) for the best students enrolled on postgraduate courses. So, I can't really understand why this has made the news!'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport.
