Hi all
I have tried to start TomTom Home but am getting the error code 1058.
The full message reads as follows:
"HOMERuntime.exe failed with error 1058: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled device associated with it.
If this problem persists, please reinstall from:
http://www.tomtom.com/home"
I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling it, but still get the same error. Can anybody advise me what to do next please?
Many thanks.
Mike

Hi,
here's a fix for this if you're using Vista;
right click on the application icon, select "properties" then select the "Compatibility mode" tab.
Then select "run this application in compatibility mode for; Windows XP SP2".
Hope that helps,

Thanks for that, I had forgotten that I had asked the question
Just tried it & TT Home started straight away.
Thanks again.

When you try to start a service (say, Windows Update) on your computer, you may receive error 1058. A description will also appear which is shown below: Error 1058: "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
Reregister Windows Update Files
Uninstall Recent Updates
Repair Windows Registry
Verify that the Service is Not Disabled
Verify Essential Services are Already Started
