Red ants menace!

Hi,
We never had this problem before. But off late, it feels like we have been invaded by a huge swarm of red ants! I tried various solutions including spraying killer ant spray, placing moth balls at strategic places etc. But still there is no respite from these yet.
Can someone suggest a solution for fixing this problem please.
