I am sorry if this has been covered before but could not find anything on FLM. I have just received an application from FLM loans offering me a loan of £1000 spread over 36 months. I am just wondering if anyone else has had dealings with this company? APR is a bit high but I am getting a bit desperate as had the debt collectors letter for my orange contract phone and that is £780:eek:

Have you been asked for/Have you paid a fee for this yet?
You would be better off contacting Orange and asking if you could pay in installments.0 -
Got a text myself yesterday saying that my application form for a FLM loan is on its way to me...
Havent applied for anyloan.
More paperwork for the shredder !!!!0 -
dont apply . these guys are sharks. the are part of the richmond group...who own advantage loans/tenant loans--- remember watchdog from years ago.
and most importantly get ur fees back at 49.50
need more convincing- i worked for these guys not so long ago0 -
Thanks. I didn't apply to them direct, but through UCC. Have not paid any fees luckily but by the sounds of them I will be shredding the application. Leaves me with debt collectors but would rather have them than some loan shark!0

I took out a loan with these people in pure desperation. I wouldn't bother i pay £92 a month and £42 of that is purely interest also you do need a gurantor. They messed up at the beginning of last year and didn't take my D/D funds were in the account i contacted my bank who i had put in writing that FLM actually cancelled the D/D!!!! then they debited my guarantors debit card which didn't please my gurantor!!!!! They kept denying it was anything to do with them ,then eventually admitted that that day they were changing their sytems over and it must have happened then!!! no appology or anything. ( I have kepted the letter from the bank just in case!!!)Also when i took out a new loan with them the numpties didn't even pay off the original loan and gave me the full amount for the second loan!!! i was too honest though i didn't want it coming back on me so i called them to let them know, they were sooo grateful yea i bet they were total incompetancy throughout. Now looking at gurantor taking out another loan to pay this off so better interest rate and paid off quicker!!! If you can get a gurantor then you might as well ask if that person will take a loan out for you if they totally trust you cos there tied to this loan anyway!!0

Thankyou for responding so quick i am Gurantor for my daughter in law for 3,000 when she took it out in july.they did not send me aggrement untill i found out she could not pay and took 118.00 out of my bank account i was fuming rang them and said that they can do that.they said her d/d bounced and anyway told did not recieve aggrement at start they sent me straight away one which is photocopy and cant read.went to bank today as she has broken up with my son and left us with debt.asked for loan which i got bank rang them for me and paid them off 2,797.33 I told them that i am going to report them to fsa as they kept on charging 20.00 for bounced d/d i got really angry in there but had to get it of my chest.we need to tell people not to touch this company as its a death penalty if you use them.i will send all imfo of to fsa and let them decide, they have powers now to revoke there licence.0

Sorry to hijack your thread!
I have just applied for a small loan through FLM and then decided to check out the forum here- ooops! Big mistake! I should have looked first before I applied! So I am sure to shred all the application paperwork when it comes thru.
Basically I am asking for your help in recommending me a company that is not going to mess me around like this one and that can provide me with a small unsecured loan (I can provide a guarantor!) not to forget that I have 2 CCJ’s and absoloutely no current credit at all- hence the reason I am applying! (Seriously, I don’t even have a debit card!)
I have read that having no credit at all can be just as damaging as missing payments because lenders don’t want to lend to you. I am desperate to improve my credit rating but obtaining any sort of credit with my history was always going to be a problem- I have since saved up and want any credit that I can pay regularly and on time to help myself out, even if this means losing money through a high APR- I am prepared to suffer through this!
Please can anyone advise me on what to do if there are no loan companies that will lend to me!? I feel like I am going to be completely left on the shelf forever with no one willing to ever lend to me all because I was a very stupid 18 year old and screwed up all those years ago!
Please tell me I am not the only one who is credit-less! Please help!
Thank you so much in advance, Lish x:j :jTotally and utterly debt free as of 27/05/09!!!:j :j0
