in Credit cards
Hi guys,
newbie here so forgive me in advance
I just ordered my Experian report which I have not had for a looooong time (since before buying my house). But Flicking through it I've noticed an absolutely astounding missing creditor.... my mortgage from RBS??
Could this be why in previous years I have been rejected for a credit card when I thought itd be fine??
THe mortgage is listed on my equifax (last time I checked last year). And the list you guys so thoughtfully compiled does say RBS reports to both....???
ANyways.... we want a new credit card for our honeymoon in May, and any hangover wedding costs, on a 0% deal. Unfortunately the one we really wanted was nationwide, for the excellent overseas spending (and 9mths int free on purchases) but thats listed as Experian only  SHould I look for ones that are more likely to use equifax so that my mortgage shows as a nice account (4.5yrs paying). should I not worry??? Should I ask experian why this isnt on their record?
Thanks in advance
Ken

hmmmm ok. but did they search your equifax or both or what for the application? I guess thats the important bit....
I am new to all this so maybe its a panic about nothing. but my thoughts range from credits checking experian only not even beleiving I have a mortgage at all....???0 -
Looks like they didn't search equifax nor did anyone else for that matter0

lol ok thanks
I am gonna get an equifax one.... its very strange indeed.

Kingkano - I think you should raise a query with Experian. If RBS simply don't provide this data to Experian you could always add a note to your report confirming that you have a mortgage and offering evidence of prompt repayment etc.“Official Company Representative

That's just made me realise that we had an RBS mortgage for ten years for before moving house two years ago and that doesn't show on my credit reports either.0

Some banks haven't historically shared information on all customers, just on those whose accounts were in arrears. But many are doing this now, or have plans to do so soon. But they can only share full information about customers who have given consent for this and many banks only started collecting this type of consent a few years ago. The government is expected to consult on possible new legislation to allow lenders to share all of this historical information because it's in the public interest, but in the meantime there will be some unavoidable gaps I'm afraid.“Official Company Representative

I guess I am not worried whether its there or not, but more worried what this means to lenders who consult my credit report???
Especially as I tick home owner/mortgage on an application, if they check experian, do they assume Im lying or something? as things wouldnt tally at their end?0
