Can i speak to the bank for my mum?

Hello
My mum and I are a bit worried as there has appeared a large discrepancy on her online account details. I manage her online account for her, transferring her money or paying her bills (while she is standing over me) as she has never got the hang of it. Apart from the fact that trying to get just a balance out of barclays over the phone is a nightmare, can she explain that she would rather I spoke to them - would they allow this if she's right there?
Today's going from bad to worse!
Any help welcomed.

I think she would need to confirm this in wiritng to them beforehand or maybe you would have to have power of attorney over her finances. I'm not sure, can you not go into the branch with her?0

If your Mum calls the bank she can give them permission to give you Authority on her account and then you can deal with the bank on her behalf.
I have the this on my mothers Insurance account and on my sons bank account.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

My mum can do anything with my bank account that I can, although it's only in my name.....
came from when I went travelling, I added her to my account and now they have a copy of her signature on file, and she can do what she likes....
good job I trust her (almost)0 -
hi...
you need to take a letter into the bank stating
i, (mothers name) give (your name) authority to discuss all maters of my current account (account number and sortcode)
i have done this for my partners account and the loan account (in my partners name) now i can access all by just stating that i have written authority to discus the account they check on the system and there is no probs :

If you do a job well, people won't be sure you've done anything at all
Must claim back bank charges!!!:rolleyes:0 -
After passing security questions she can always tell them that she wants you to continue the conversation and just hand the headset over to you - without any arrangements and letters.pug_in_a_bed wrote:...can she explain that she would rather I spoke to them - would they allow this if she's right there? ..0 -
I would agree with Grumbler, but whatever you do, do NOT admit that you know her security details, or that you do her internet banking for her. Been there, done that, ended up having to get entirely new security settings for my Mother's account, AND we were treated like potential bank robbers. Your bank may be better, this was HSBC.
