I presume you'll be borrowing this £500 on the mortgage, so it won't be available for fridges etc.
Not if the lower offer had been accepted, we wouldn't, no. Hence the offer - if you don't ask, you don't get.0 -

Oops, I forgot all about my own thread didn't I! Sorry!
Yeah, we had an offer accepted this morning (£180k) and we are really pleased. We asked them to take it off the market because we didn't want to run the risk of losing any solicitors' fees, and they have done that. On Rightmove it's now showing up as "sold STC", which is quite a relief. They've cancelled all viewings. I am pretty confident that they have genuinely done this as well because I was viewing another property with the same agent a couple of weeks ago and he cancelled the viewing as an offer had been accepted on that property under the same conditions as ours.
I am not too sure what happens next but the solicitor told me not to worry too much about the process and not to be scared by the wodge of apper he is sending us
We're very lucky because he's the family solicitor and has done 4 houses for my folks. Therefore we know we can trust him. If there's someone cheaper I'm not interested cos I reckon that trust is priceless when you're already quite nervous about something!
Thanks very much to everyone who posted advice on here and on my other thread. I really appreciated it.
