Is it easy to fit a new lnb ? my neighbour bought a twin or quad one and wants my husband to fit it... shiver:eek:

    Actually ~fitting~ it shouldn't be difficult. IIRC there are two different sizes of neck which the clamp fits around, but the smaller generic ones often come with a spacer to make them "universal".

    However, getting stable access to it may be awkward, depending on where it's mounted, and of course there is no point in replacing a single LNB with a dual or quad unless you also add additional cabling, which may mean accessing a loft, pulling cables through restricted access holes, etc, etc...

    There's also the problem that the additional cable weight will bend the arm slightly, requiring dish realignment to compensate. This is discussed on the Satcure web site.

  • I did this 10 min job easy peasy, if you can climb a ladder that is, bought a brand new Thompson Quad LNB on Ebay 8 quid I think

    Don't forget to make sure the connections are water tight, self amalgamating tape is the best uption for water ingress prevention.
