Competition Terms & Conditions
This promotion is open to all residents of the UK aged over 18 years or over at the time of entry, excluding employees of the Promoter, their agents or anyone professionally associated with this promotion.
By entering this promotion the entrant will be deemed to have read and understood these Terms and Conditions, and to be bound by them. These Terms and Conditions will be deemed to include all instructions relevant to the promotion.
The promotion opens on 04/02/09. All entries must be received by the Promoter by 10:00am on 01/05/09. The Promoter will not be responsible for transmission, network and/or computer or software error affecting the logging of entries to the promotion.
No purchase necessary.
Responsibility cannot be accepted for entries invalidated by technical problems beyond the control of the Promoter or problems with accessing the promotional site.
All Internet connection and other charges associated with the submission of an entry to the promotion shall be the entrant's responsibility.
To be entered into the competition, entrants are required to visit www.minibabybel.co.uk to enter their name, date of birth, e-mail, post code and telephone number. Entrants will be offered to upload a video of themselves or friends and family singing the Classic Babybel song, a sample of which can be heard in the website.
Visitors of the Promotional Website can rate the videos uploaded on the site. Visitors can rate as many videos as they choose however each visitor can only vote once per video. The Promoter reserves the right to remove any automatically generated vote.
After the closing date, 20 ads will be chosen by the vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant from all the entrants. These will be chosen using the following criteria: inventiveness, originality, fun and quality of performance and any ratings obtained from the visitors. From these 20 finalists the vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant will select a winner using the same criteria. The judging will be completed by 11/05/2009. All decisions of the judges will be final and binding on the entrants and no correspondence will be entered into.
Your video must be up to 30 seconds long and be 100 Mb or smaller. We accept many popular formats, such as AVI, ASF, QuickTime, Windows Media and MPEG formats. For example, .avi, .asf, .mov, .wmv, .mpg, .mpeg, .mp4, .ra, .ram, and .mod are all acceptable file extensions. Please note that we currently do not accept Flash files. Specific video codes we accept include: H.264, H.263, MPEG 1/2/4 and motion JPEG. All videos are loaded on YouTube and then removed from YouTube once the Promotion has ended. Your video can take several working days to qualify into the gallery.
Entrants submitting videos substantially longer than required, or with variations to the lyrics of the Babybel song will be automatically disqualified.
There is no limit to the number of people that may appear in your video, but if the submission contains any person(s) other than the entrant, by entering this contest, entrants confirm having received permission from other person(s) featured in for the Promoter to use their image for publicity including posting on website(s). All entries become the sole property of Promoter and none will be returned. Applicants that include people under 16 years in their video must obtain previous parental consent. Applicants will be responsible for ensuring that the consent of a parent or guardian of the child has been properly obtained and the Promoter will accept no responsibility for this failure. If the Promoter learns that a submission includes persons under the age of 16 without parental consent the participant will be automatically disqualified.
All videos will need to be approved by the Promoter and/ or its agents before they are featured on the promotion website and will be assessed according to these terms and conditions. Any decision to reject submitted entries is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
There is 1 prize consisting of a 2 hour singing lesson with vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant. Singing lesson will be held in London. The winner is entitled to invite a friend, parent or guardian to accompany them to the lesson, and take part if wishes to in the lesson. Return Standard Train fares for 2 people will be included in the prize. Max total value £150. Prize does not include any accommodation or refreshments or any other expenses. All other costs incurred by the winner and guest are their responsibility.
The winner will be notified by telephone and/or email using the information provided within 2 working days after selection. The lesson must be taken before 01/07/09. Lesson dates are at the discretion of Carrie and David Grant, excluding bank holidays and weekends.
The winner will receive via post full prize instructions after initial contact has been made.
If a winner cannot be located or does not respond within 7 days of notification, his/her prize will be withdrawn and awarded to the next reserve winner.
The prize is as stated. No cash alternative offered. The prize is non-transferable, non-changeable and non-refundable, either wholly or partly in cash. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of the same or greater value should circumstances beyond its control make this necessary.
Multiple registrations from the same participant will be accepted.
The Promoter is not responsible for any entries not received. Proof of submission is not proof of receipt.
Submitted videos must not contain any: a/ threats to any persons, places or organizations; b) defamatory statements c/ dangerous behavior, d/ inappropriate clothing or objects, e/ commercial/corporate advertising, or f/ indecent behavior, profanities or obscenities;
Submitted videos must not: a/ invade the privacy or other rights of any person or entities, b/ ridicule any persons or organizations, c/ infringe applicable laws and regulations.
The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to exclude any entry that, in its sole opinion reflects negatively in any way upon any person or entity, or does not comply with these terms and conditions.
The Promoter reserves the right to remove any inappropriate material at any time.
Your entry must be a combination of the classic Babybel song and your own original work, and cannot incorporate or include anything that is; a) owned by any third party or entity or that requires the consent of any third party or entity b) infringes any law, copyright, trademark, publicity right, privacy right or any other right of any third party. Entries cannot contain any copyrighted materials apart from the classic Babybel song, including but not limited to images and music.
The Promoter can not be held liable for any damages sustained from any events occurred during the production of the videos.
Applicants authorise the Promoter, irrevocable and in perpetuity, to reproduce, copy, publish, broadcast, or otherwise use their video submission, name, statements, or any material based upon or derived from them, in any media whatsoever throughout the world, including, without limitation, for all purposes of trade.
Entrants voluntarily and knowingly, renounce to any and all claims, actions and lawsuits of any kind against the Promoter, or its agents related to or arising from their participation in the Promotion including, without limitation, any claims, actions or lawsuits for defamation, violation of right of publicity, invasion of privacy, and infringement of copyright.
Details of the winner's name and county will be available between 11/05/2009 and 11/06/09 by sending a stamped SAE to Babybel Sing A Little Cheese, Brave, 40 Vanston Place, London SW6 1AX.
The information that you supply will be held for the purpose of this promotion and notifying winners only and will be destroyed once the promotion has ended. No further communications will be made using this information.
The Promoter reserves the right to modify or terminate this promotion at any time without prior notice.

How to enter

It’s easy to take part on our Sing a Little Cheese competition:

1. Record a video of yourself singing the Mini Babybel theme tune (the funnier the better)
2. Upload your video to our site
3. The public will judge your video and the 20 best and funniest entries will make it through to the final
4. Carrie and David Grant will choose the winner and treat them to a private singing lesson

Please remember that if you’re under 18, a parent or guardian will have to submit your video.
