Plumbers-My T/P relief valve is leaking.

I have a Megaflo CL 170 tank, which is 4 years old, and the temperature / pressure relief valve, allows hot water through, running to waste, visible via the tundish, after about 15 minutes of the hot water being charged up by the boiler.
I have set the cylinder thermostat to 4, against a maximum of 5. When I feel the hot water running through the tundish, it is hot, but not scalding hot.
The megaflo website indicates the fault as stat, or T/P valve.
When the tank is warm or cold, I have tested the operation of the valve, by using the spring loaded end piece, and it opens and closes securely, without any leakage when closed.
My question is, if I drain off the tank water to just below the T/P valve, then remove the valve, are there seals that I can replace,or better still, can I soak it in vinegar or similar,to bring it back to life ?
After all this cleaning or renewing, will the system top itself up to the correct level, after I have turned the water on again?
Sorry this thread is long, just wanted to give you all of the facts. Thanks.

Hi
If you are talking Heatrae Sadia Megaflow then you need to re establish the air gap in the cylinder. See the website or the sticker on the side of the cylinder (unless it's been fitted where the sticker is out of sight)
All unvented cylinders should be checked every year.

Thanks a lot for that Canucklehead, yes, there is a warning sticker on the cylinder, which I found with the aid of a mirror and an Anglepoise lamp !
I gently removed the label, leaving the print stuck to the tank. lol.
Megaflo advise line (for new labels !) is 01926 405405
Thanks again.0
