Asda Electrical Warranty Query

I purchased a Fridge/Freezer from Asda Electrical last september and it has now stopped working. When I rang Asda up about the warranty, they said I have to sort it out with Zanussi direct as Asda Electrical has stopped trading and are now Asda Direct. Can some one please tell me if Asda should still be dealing with the warranty or if as they say I need to contact Zanussi direct myself.

    Asda Head Office:

Asda Electrical Registered company address (from Companies House)
    ASDA ELECTRICAL LIMITED
    ASDA HOUSE
    SOUTH BANK
    GREAT WILSON STREET
    LEEDS
    LS11 5AD
    Company No. 00486359

Asda Electical, according to Companies House was dissolved 2nd December 2003! Tell them to stop BSing you and sort it out, your contract is with them. Likelihood is you'll get a different answer if you ring back and speak to a different person.
  • Fridge freezer broken, Id say time is of the essence. Ring zanussi direct, all asda will do is ring them on your behalf, book an appointment with an engineer for a time which probably isnt convenient anyway. One phone call to zanussi or several to asda...its your call. ;)

Your contract is with Asda they cannot pass the buck Zanussi, if you have problems look up the sale of goods act.

However its worth following papalaz's advice first as if this works it will save time
  • Just an update:Went through to Asda customer service again and a very helpful chap put me straight through to Zanussi CS and they are coming next Thursday.(Saved me hanging on, on a 0870 number)

Use the http://www.saynoto0870.com/ site for a geographical phone number or even a 0800 one. Search 'Zanussi'
