Morrisons Petrol Offer ?

Was in MORRISONS today filling up and the cashier offered me a MILES CARD and mumbled something about £5. I have lifted the following from the web site,

MORRISONS MILES

With a Morrisons Miles Card* you can make your money go that little bit further by collecting points and earning a £5 shopping voucher.

Earn up to 15 Morrisons Miles* with every litre of fuel you purchase. Once you’ve collected 4995 miles on a single card, by purchasing 333 litres of fuel, we’ll give you a £5 shopping voucher to spend in-store.

There’s no waiting for the vouchers to be posted either, you just pick them up from the petrol station kiosk and spend them in any Morrisons or Safeway store – it’s as simple as that.

So remember the more you fill up at Morrisons, the more you save.

My question is... am i better off buying at Tesco and getting club points on my petrol or using this card?

Tesco points work out to about 1P each. To get five pounds worth you need to spend £500 on Tesco petrol.
It then depends on what the two supermarkets charge per Ltr.
Where I live it works out cheaper to buy petol at Morrisons.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

We have already had one voucher and we nearly have enough for another it doesn't take that long if you fill up nearly every week or so.

Morrisons works out at the equivalent of a 1.5p per litre discount if you collect the points.

I find that I get more vouchers faster than I did with tescos. Given that I also find Morrisons cheaper for grocery shopping than our local tescos it is a win-win!!
  • I have had a voucher once, but I don't use Morrison's often as the local Shell is cheaper per litre. Takes ages to get enough Shell points to swap for anything tho'

  • Don't forget that your Tesco points can be worth 4x as much if you cash them in for attractions vouchers!

The Morrisons vouchers can only be used at their face value in-store (not sure if you can use them on petrol? Most offers normally exclude petrol).
  • I've had a few vouches from Morrisons.

    Was driving alot then though
  • I am surprised how quickly the Morrisons points add up to a £5 voucher, i dont always get my diesel from there but still get around 4 vouchers a year.

I have heard though that supermarket fuel does not contain all the detergents that Shell / Esso fuel contains so it is advised to fill up from these garages now and again.
