  • South coast as in Brighton? It not all that, but then no area in the Uk has good 3 coverage.

    Hi all,

Thanks for this..I managed to order one yesterday. This morning I received an e-mail regarding a security deposit of £150. I was wondering if anyone else received this? My cousin ordered the 7600 from carphone warehouse for £4.99/mo and they required a deposit of £70 and that was refunded once the phone was delivered. £150 seems a bit steep to be giving the network for 12 months.

My aunt also received this e-mail and she ordered one yesterday.

    Regards
  • so the catch is the deposit.....??

do they still need you to pay the line rental, and then claim it back or is it free??
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

You still have to pay the £30/month line rental and after 3 months receive £45 back from three then after 6 months and 12 months receive £157.50 from e2save. The deal is very good but the deposit is a lot and, although you get it back after 12 months, after 3 months you will have spent £240 and receive back £45.
  • I never had to give a deposit, maybe its something to do with credit rating? I know that some phone companies do this with people who have a poor credit history to make sure they don't give you the phone and then you cant pay your monthly bill??

Anyone found any information saying that you just sign a 12month contract? Or is it one of those sly ones that give half price (or in this case free) for 12 months and then its full price for the other 6?

Might get one as a house phone!!! Already have the £4.99 deal so know I get perfect 3 signal at home!

This deposit requirement is not being made on everyone. (There will be some historical/status reason why they are requesting it).

Regarding the first 3 months - you only pay £15 rental for the first 3 months (the bill comes already discounted), so you don't have to wait for the £45 back from 3.

    Hi Lenny6582

This is from the order you have to agree to regarding the contract:
I agree to a minimum 12 month service agreement with my chosen Network/Service provider. This may be terminated by giving one month's notice commencing on, or after the end of the initial 11 months.
