Similar to the (old) money back account card but with the silver strip.0

Nor me, in honesty, I cannot understand this apparent obsession with card designs, it is a card, it works, end of.
The bloody thing is stuffed in a wallet/purse for most of it's life anyway.0 -
Not that I care about the card design if I do I wouldn't go with Halifax, as they seem to have ugly cards in the industry, however, if it's pretty card is always a plus0

Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

The new BoS card looks better than the Halifax in my opinion. While very similar in design and colour, they have added BANK OF SCOTLAND above the Reward, so avoiding that huge blank space top right. It also benefits from not saying Halifax0

The way things are going, they will both have Bank of England on them, once we the tax payer have finished bailing them out, that is.;)0 -

BANK OF SCOTLAND Corporate - basketcase
HBOS Treasury - screwed by wholesale funding costs
HALIFAX Retail - err profitable!

What is it about Scottish banking brands?- Probably, not a good thing being the largest mortgage lender in a property slump. The Halifax was this.
- The corporate side quite clearly shouldn't have invested in the housing sector (builders etc) so heavily. The property slant was from the Halifax.
- There was also a marked change when Halifax took over the retail side (BoS) went very much downhill, and everything went towards sales, not customer service.
- Crosby/Hornby were both from Halifax
It would probably be in a similar position to them now, had HBOS never existed.
I suspect Halifax would now be like Northern Rock or A&L.
I think you may find that the Lloyds & Bank of Scotland brands remain, long term. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

BE VERY CAREFUL - YOU'RE BORDERING RACISM....
Scottish banks are fine, try looking at your own English economy before you srat on us! Shall I start with Northern then move on to Halifax?? BOS were fine til they got involved with that pile of crap from HX3 (Trinity Road for you that don't live round ere!)
TSB, BOS, RBS, CB are all big players so don't start.... the english caused this recession, they caused the last and they will damn sure cause the next IMHOSome say he is a racist, others say he is a liar but the truth will always prevail...
