greedy banks with no care

Hey

Late last November I had someone take two 50p testers and then £50 from my account. This went to www.allpay.net !!!FRAUD!!!
I was informed by my bank that I was overdrawn (by letter), so I gave them a ring.
I told the cust-rep I didnt make the transaction and will not pay the £50 charge as it wasn't my fault I was overdrawn. she told me not to worry about the charges, my account would be closed and a new card sent out along with their fraud department getting involved. I made arrangements to stop my money going into this account and waited.
early January I recieved a second statement with more charges on it and nothing about the fraud.
I wrote a very lengthy letter to them explaining my concerns that I had recieved no new bank card and no news on the fraud. I also told them I will not pay the charges as my acount should not be active.
at the end of January I recieved a letter asking for a signiture to allow them to contact police etc. they also told me to contact them to cancel the card.(wern't you supposed to have allready done that?)
I frustratedly filled in the form giving consent and sent it off.
I have just recieved another statement this feb with even more charges on it with threats to close my account <----LOL LOL LOL
There was a seperate letter with this statement saying they had reinbursed me "temporarily" with the disputed amount (£50+50p+50p). They left the £150 of charges on the account though.

This all seems a bit unfair to me. Just wondering if anybody knows if Im right to refuse to pay these charges. Its not my fault after all is it?

I'm sick of these greedy banks. I had just heard about reclaiming the charges from them from the guy who runs this site, he was on radio1 while I was at work. just as I downloaded the letters to start the claim they went to court. gutted! I was going to get loads back.
Sure it wouldnt matter anyway, I claim that money back and they just give themselves a nice big tax-payers bonus.
that'l pay for the bubbly at the share-holders meeting

I would send a formal letter of complaint to your branch manager detailing what you have put on this post.
You shouldn't have to pay any of the charges as they are a result of a fraud that has happened on your account.

I think allpay.net are a payment processing company a bit like paypal. Try finding some details on hem as well and contacting them to see if they can give you any information about these transactions.
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

  • im not too sure what allpay.net is.
i googled them and aparently theres a hell of a lot of people in america and canada getting post scams from them.
you know, you have won 10,000 but you need to pay 1,200 registration fee.
it says on there site they make card scanners or somthing too. sounds like them card replicators to me.
