Help! Accidentally damaged sold item ...

Hi all,
I've sold a pair of new jeans on ebay (auction ends in a couple of days). I decided to iron them and accidentally touched the plastic/leather brand label, which is very noticeable and has affected/darkened half the label. They are not an expensive brand, but that's besides the point.
There are 2 bids (by the same person) and no watchers, I started the auction at £1.99 and they're up to £2.30.
What's the best thing to do? Email the lady who's bid and explain the situation, offering them say at .99 if she still wants them, or should I wait 'til the auction end? I'm really not bothered what they go for ... just want to avoid bad feedback.
Thanks for any advice.

if the badge isn't pictured, then you could be naughty and sold 'as is'
or you could ammend the item and add the picture
or pull the auction and re-list with the revised picturemoney saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

Thanks for the replies ... can I amend the listing then/pull it even though I've had bids?Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0

You cant amend it, think you might be able to pull it.
If you go revise listing you can add a description which just appears at the bottom the page.0 -

Many thanks ... I was able to cancel the auction and bids are automatically cancelled. I'll have a think about whether to try and sell again in the future.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
The way I would handle it would be to give the customer a COMPLETE refund and send the goods for nothing.Small change can often be found under seat cushions.

I would email the highest bidder and ask whether she would like them for free if she just pays postage? explain what happened! A nice gesture and it saves throwing a potentially good pair of jeans!Angel0

She hadn`t sold the item yet !!Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
you can add a note at teh bottom, appologising for not mentioning it before but.. there is slight superficial damage to teh label.. if teh lady withdraws her bids then fair enough, but if she decides shes still getting a bargain you wont and cant get in trouble:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0
