I requested the Key Facts Document from the website, part of the T&C's is that you must also sign up for the OpenPlan account as well, a fact not pointed out when you obtain a quotation.
Does this still make a good deal???0 -
This was debated a few days ago, with a number of the professionals giving opinion thats probably worth a look!

SSI am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far! :mad:0 -

It's an irrelevance!
Barclays (woolwich) will try and sell you everything under the sun, so what better way than have control of the biggest source of information on what people spend their money on!

Open plan is ok I have one.. No major benefits of having one though.. but hey you dont have to use it.. as far as I am aware as long as you do not have an over draft on it you dont have to service the account...
It is good for savings posts though. It allows you 6 other savings pots attached to the account if my memoriy serves me right, this is something I am currently taking advantage of as Martin advises with managing money..
Will have to read the terms & cond further though..MFWB

I'm already with the woolwich, will I be able to swap from an offset to this one - I have no tie in or anything?0

That thread is really useful, I suppose there are a number of variables that need to be considered before locking in for so long, however, that rate is still really tempting. Good news about the OpenPlan thing, I'm with HSBC (which, lets be fair, is not hard to beat!) at the minute so I'll way up the two, but if I don't need to service it then even better.0
