Problem uploading my pictures

Hi, not sure if I can explain this adequately but I want to upload some photographs to a website that I use.

Have done it many times before, so thought I knew what I as doing, but alas ...

I use picasa3 for all my photo's (but they are also listed under my pictures, which is inside my documents)

When I am on my other website, I click the browse button and that takes me to my computer where I look through my various directories, and usually I just click my pictures, and then choose the pictures I want to upload. However, when I access 'my pictures' from this route, I find that the directory is empty

However, if I go to start, and click on my pictures, all my pictures are there ???

What has gone wrong ????
