    Here you go hun:

It's in the debt Free Wannabe section - I do this challenge every month - takes endurance but have saved around £25 each month as a result compared to my old ways...

Re BT £77 bill - get them to debit you monthly - if it is your quarterly total, you can definately get them to DD you monthly instead.

If it is your monthly bill - it's huge - why? Ours used to be big when we used dial-up internet alot - now we are on broadband at £11 a month, BT phone bill is just £12 a month DD. So £23 all in, compared to £34 or so before.

If you have broadband you can make free calls with Skype (www.skype.com) and www.voipcheap.com is good for making calls fromy our PC to UK and international landlines, free-ish (£3 a month or so). This has saved us £6 or so a month in international calls.
awww cheers hun for the links  but i meant me mobile phone bill basically i think im going to start leaving it at home cos the bill seems to be increasing every month which isnt a good sign :(

Which network are you with? I had an increasing monthly bill with Vodafone and rang and got a £10 month for 10 months offer with 75 mins and loads of free texts, well enough for me as i'm a pretty low user anyway. It goes up a bit in months 11 and 12 and I'll need to ring up then to sort out a new offer.

Yeah which network are you with? And how long have you been a customer of theirs?

I am just wondering because I am with O2 and have been for about 3 years. I was paying £30 a month for calls and txts....so in true Martin Lewis fashion....I researched the deals on at the minute and found out that ntl/virgin have an offer on if you are their customer for 300 mins/300 txts for £10 a month you also get a phone for £2.99 postage. So I call up O2 and ask them what they can do for me as they are no longer competitive...and that I am a long term customer.... they offer me 500 mins/100 txts a month for £20 and £100 credit as I do not want a new handset, (i.e. 5 months free), THEREFORE the next 12 months will be £10 a month.

I am only making the effort to type this out because I want you to be DF asap!

Hey Jamesy ooh another one making a profit thats good to see :D I have not got the energy to even read through how to do that betting lark, let alone the braincells to actually do it  Hope you do as well as SS with it.
Have you looked around for a cheaper mobile package with the free minutes and everything? My eldest is starting to badger me for a new phone for Chrimbo so I've been looking round for him..We all have Virgin phones and their prices aren't too bad (sure someone will tell me different now...) but we're all low users, hell I don't even remember to take mine out anywhere with me and if I do its always run out of charge as I forget to do it :rotfl:

Basically i just need to stop using the bl00dy thing i only get 150 mins free and 100 texts free a month and i must be so using much more than that  theres no way i can switch network unfortunatley  think im just going to have to leave it at home and stop using it :)

Doesn't look like my vodafone deal was so good after all!! I was obviously too easily satisfied!! Still it's probably enough for me in terms of number of minutes/texts.

Memo to self: do the research next year.

hi guys would like a little bit of advice from u all please :o Basically when i get paid on the 1st December i will have around £400 left out of my wages for the rest of the month. Im going to over pay my loan by £100 and i will have £300 left out of my wages, would it be wrong of me to hold on to this money so that i can go out and enjoy myself over the Christmas period? I would like to know what u guys think cos im in a quandry myself over it, in that im either being too extravegent with this money spending it on myself or that i should overpay my loan more and leave myself the normal amount i do each month :oAny advice would be much appreciated :)

    Morning James :D
Well I really should put my MSE hat on and say :naughty: £300... just think that could go towards paying something off!!!
BUT..if you think you have got on top of your overspending habit (which I think you have) I would just leave it sitting in the account over xmas *I am soo gonna get caned now..* and if there's any over afterwards (which I think there will be :D )then use it to overpay some more.I really don't think you have anything to feel guilty about as you have already overpaid some on your loan this month.
*settles back and waits to get yelled at...*
