Pay Reduction Question

Hi all,

A friend of mine asked me if his work was allowed to offer a Pay Reduction at his work place or are they braking any kind of contract. Peoples pay are being cut by 50% to work 50% less hours a week or they have the option of staying on working there normal times and days for 66%.

Just wanted to know if a company was able to do this
