Mushroom and Apple Stroganoff?

I though this might make a nice cheap filling meal to make at home and serve me for a few days!
I ate it in a pub once with lots of rice. It was yummy!

I've been searching for the recipe but I must be doing something wrong because I can't seem to bring up the right sort of stuff.

Do you know it?

Oh, I'm a vegetarian.. non strict in that I occasionally ingest animal by products. Very occasionally though.

Can anyone help?

  • Hey all,

Well, I guess no one's heard of it, the general problem I keep having!

Can anyone take a stab at how you might make it? I have a mushroom stroganoff recipe from BBC food- Would you start cooking the apples at the same time? Put the apples in any kind of Alcohol?

Apples dont take long to cook, depends on if the one from your lunch had bits of apple, or some sort of puree in it. If it had bits, i would add them near the end of the cooking process so that they dont disintergrate to much, or you could add it at the beginning and let it stew into the rest of the dish.
  • Yeah, it was chunky bits. Ok, I'll try that, thankyou!

  • If it works out well, can you post the recipe you used, because I wouldn't mind trying it myself?!

  • Hi

Sure be happy too! I bet I can't get it as nice as it was, but I'll take a stab at it!
