HSBC - how long for a claim response

Options
I sent off the first letter on Jan 19 and received a reply yesterday (Feb 10th) saying I should receive a response within 4 weeks, but it could be up to eight weeks if further information is required. Is this the same response sent to other forum users, or another (scare) tactic from the bank? Thanks:confused:

    Hi there

They have 8 weeks to respond in full.

If they go over that, you should if you want to go this direction is contact the financial service ombudsman service, good luck and hope your successful, please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)
