What to do with my Crittal windows

Hi all I've just stripped out my cold, slighty rusted Crittal windows and I'm wondering what to do with them.... Should I just be chucking these in a skip and forgetting about them?

  • If you'd just watched Grand Designs on C4, you'd see that they look great if they are sand blasted, restored and put back in.

Otherwise, just stick them on E bay.

Yes... I did see that, did they mention what they'd done about the fact that they were a bad source of heat loss?

It was a listed building so they could not get rid of them and neither should they, and I might question if you should have as well, if they were orignals.

They installed internal shutters and curtains were mentioned but I did not see them. another option in internal secondary glazing.

Offer them to a Archtectural Salvage yard they may pay for them or just give them to them and they will get reused.

Question away, I'm sure they were but this was a 1930s building with no listing so ripping them out was fine..... I'll try a salvage yard.
  • I've just taken some crittel windows out too. A friend suggested I make a cold frame for my plants so I'm going to have a go.
