I'm guessing 'assl' should be ADSL, which means the 235a modem will only work with an ADSL or DSL broadband internet connection. Specs here.

The 56K v92 is a dial-up modem (the sort that make those funny screeching sounds) and can only be used with a dial-up ISP or as a fax modem.

From that you should be able to work out which one is suitable for you. :)

Most bank connections require an analogue modem so the 56k modem is the one to go for.
ADSL requires an adsl enabled phone line and is fine if your using one of the banks that use a web based system but the business accounts usually have more secure direct connections where you have encryption hardware that you need to use a card with a chip and pin to access now.

If your in any doubt contact the bank and they will tell you which type of connection they need you to have.
