Advice on cheapest voip provider for calls to Africa & UK mobiles

I hope I have posted this in the right place.
I am a big fan of Voipstunt (terrible name!) for making calls over the internet, and I am happy to pay for calls to various destinations that they do not offer for free. However, I cannot understand why it is cheaper to use BT and an overrider (0844 numbers) to dial Ghana and UK mobiles (both 2p per minute) than a VOIP provider.
When using a VOIP carrier (Skype, Voipstunt, Vonage) it is more expensive. The cheapest I can call Ghana for is 8p per minute over VOIP. Am I missing something?
I would much rather make all my calls using VOIP.

You are not missing anything Pots is cheaper then Voip to call Ghana and UK Mobiles.
