  • just 2 add she as prepayment meters in her old address plus in her new one they are prepayment meters there
  • she will have to take over the accounts with the present suppliers at the new place first, once this has occurred she can transfer to her chosen suppliers.

if there are credit meters (not card meters) make sure she takes readings when she moves in and every couple of weeks for a month or two. it will help with transferring the accounts, and also a monthly direct debit amount if she chooses to pay this way. it's cheapest.

If she wants to go with ebico for gas, this should be able to be done as a simple tariff change from Scottish & Southern who she will first have as the existing supplier. Once the account is set up, this should be able to happen without delay - she could even enquire about this when she takes over the supply and they may set her up directly on the ebico tariff.

Changing the electric to EDF will be a usual switching request which will take about 6 weeks.

When she phones ebico to transfer her gas that will be an easy switch over (make sure she mentions at the beginning of the call it is ebico she wants to be with not Southern Electric. When the advisor moves the account from old address to new address it will automatically create her electric with them so there will be an account while EDF take over the supply.
  • thanks she as a prepayment meter with a card to add money to @local shop
