Gala Coral gambling scam..? Money gone from bank account...

Just discovered I got hit by 11 x £95 withdrawals (£1045 in total) from my bank account on the 23d January. My debit card was upcoming to it's end of life, so looks like someone got in there just before it did.
Stopped my card last night, have filled in all the relevant forms with bank today but was told it could take up to 30 days before I get my money back.
Just wondering what online company would have been the culprit here. I googled and it brought me to a shopneo thread on here, but i've never bought anything on there before.
First time i've ever been hit on this. It's credit card only for all online things now on.

Where does the Gala Coral come into this?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I do try to check it more often, but i never have my 10 digit registration number handy which is required to logon, and I always forget. To be fair, I do check them about once a month thoroughly so 3 weeks isn't really that bad. Sure even if I missed it by 2 days, i'd still probably have to chase the bank for the money.
Gala Coral are the company who took the money on the statement, should have made that clear.
I'm assuming the culprit used my card details on one of their gambling websites.0 -

Gala Coral may be totally innocent."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
I once had a gambling site phone me to confirm my address, as I never use these sites I told them it was not me and I would be claiming the money back. I had only used my CC card on World Pay and the DVLA so it could only have been one of them. Never did find out which though. (did get the money back) Probably one of the perils of the net even when you are very careful.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I wasn't accusing them, but someone is using them to gain access to my money with stolen details.0 -
Why do people have to try and be smart when someone who has just joined is asking for advice. It seems a few people on here delight in saying "I told you so". Saying you should check more often doesnt help the OP and, while it may be true, is a bit condescending IMHO.
W_N_S i hope you get this sorted out and your money back.Determined to be mortgage and debt free!

I agree crazykittylady there are so many nice people on here giving really helpful advice (Why can't we all be like this in the real world) and some people judge other people. If you don't approve keep it to yourself, he asked for advice he did not ask for your opinion etc
Remember people Its Nice To Be Important, Buts Its More Important To Be Nice0 -
Can I apolgise for my post it didn't come across as helpful, I'd got halfway through posting and my son came and sat on my lap (and the laptop) so I put the laptop down and forgot about the post - I obviously sent it without realising.0

Can't see why a fraudster would gamble with someone else's card as the winnings would have to be refunded to the card in question wouldn't they?0
