  • Spiro, the device alongside our old meter is called, a "Multirate Single Phase Watt Hour Meter". Do you think that this device may well be controlling the E7rates already, irrespective of the old meter clock and its brass timing pins?

David - may not be as useful for you as you can see the times on the clock. but this link may help.
If you have a mechanical switch (or internal clock) that would affect the 'real' times it changes

Some old E7 sites have 2 meters and a clock. The main meter has 2 registers and records day and night for the house, the 2nd meter is only active during the night period and records the consumpion for your heating. The 2 night elements are added together on your bill. Does it look like another meter?

  • Thanks SwanJon. Phew! it's interesting to see that this topic has been about for so long that some of the posts are in Hieroglyphics! I suppose if we set the washing machine for two, dish washer for four, oven cleaner for six, we should be straddling any of the hundreds of possibilities! Even better, only one machine per night, starting at four.
