Unable to connect hard drive

I have recently had to have my laptop rebuilt with a full re-install.

When I have come to use my hard drive (Hypertec FireStorm V2 Hard drive)
the computer sees the conection (Green arrow) but does not allow me to see the drive (via my computer)

Any ideas????

Thanks

Im guessing it is an external USB drive? if it is it is possibly trying to use a drive letter already in use.

right click my computer and then manage, go to disk management and see if the drive is listed, right click the drive and click change drive letter, click the change button and select a drive letter that isnt in use, it should only show available drive letters in the list.

    Thanks for your reply.

When I follow you instructions it does not list the drive (yes it is a usb drive).

It is however listed in the device manager in the disk drives.

    Any more ideas?

    Thanks

Unplug the drive and check disk management
then connect it again and see what disk management is displaying.

You will need to close and reopen disk managment (system manager) after you plug the drive in and look for changes.

I see no change (the drive was not showing in disk management at any stage)

Every time I plug the drive back in the laptop sees this but nothing more.

Have you tried plugging it into another computer?

That might tell us whether it's your computer or the drive which is at fault.
