My parents are almost 70 and my Dad is of ill health due to several medical conditions. My Mum is his carer but is often poorly herself.
My Dad is now almost housebound and my Mum has told me he has the heating up full every day. Not all day but at times when they require it. But my Dad still feels cold even though my Mum says its ridiculously hot, which it is when I go and visit.
Dad has been checked by the hospital and they say he just feels the cold because its an effect of one or a combination of his conditions.
My question is would they be entitled to any help or benefit to pay their gas or electricity bills? They are with British Gas for combined bill. They have recently had loft insulation and cavity wall insulation installed.
Many thanks

Hi,
I'd contact BG and see if they have a department that specialise in dealing with vulnerable customers, they should have a record of all the different benefits that are available and who is entitled to what.
Other options would be to speak with Age Concern or the Citizens Advice Bureau.
Hope this gives you some ideas.“Official Company Representative
