Can IVA company mistake benefit me?

I recently contacted an IVA company to discuss my debts and a possible outcome to reduce them. They sent me 2 packs through. Upon opening them I discovered two seperate peoples details had been sent to me, whichc included bank statements, wage slips, and debt details including names and phone numbers etc on them. What should I do? I contacted the company and they were not bothered that it had happened and asked me to return them at my expense to them. I am concerned that the peoples details are sent out and there is no concern or worry as to the protectcion of these people. They have already had there confidence breached I am wondering whether I should contact the people involved as I have there numbers to let them know what has happened. Whether I can use this information against the company involved, can I get them to reduce my debts????? Should I report the debt company and who too and most importantly should I tell the people involved what has happened?

Why are you even thinking of trying to turn this to your advantage? I think if you even try it wil end in tears. Sure there has been a mistake and quite a serious one at that but morally you know you should send the stuff back.
In short no you won't get your debt written off or reduced at worst you'll end up in a whole world of trouble.
Just do what's right and then continue in your own quest with your debts.
If you are genuinely concerned about a breach of Data Protection then complain to the relevant authority and let them deal with it.0 -
I agree with you Wonga. It should really be dealt with by the relavant authourity. It certainly will not have any bearing on your own case however. Money Talks ...but all mine ever says is Goodbye! :rolleyes:0

i dont think the archers should even be asking that question. advise the authority who covers this and dont even dream of contacting the two people whose details you have. would you want them contactng you if the shoe was on the other foot?0
