Hi,
I am planning to transfer my s/s ISA from HBOS to a Hargreaves Lansdown managed fund - potentially the 'balanced fund'. I have read that the HBOS funds do not have the best performance.
I am 27, so am looking to have a dominance of equity but also some stability in the fund. Looking to invest for 5 years.
Does this sound like a good idea? any thoughts appreciated..

Not really. HLs own funds are nothing special and you dont save much. We have seen people on these forums before transfer out of cheaper, better funds to go into HLs own funds in that misbelief that they are better.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). would i be better off opening s/s isa with my own chosen funds in it e.g. invesco perpetual income fund? and a corporate bond?
is that a better way to do it rather than allow a company to group funds together for me?0
