Re: Concession Rates

Hi everyone
Can anyone help me here. I am a bit confused as to what attractions class as concessions.
I am due to travel up to Edinburgh for 4 days during the hols with my daughter and parents.

I am currently receiving Family tax Credit, is this classed as concession?

I have emailed quite a few attactions in Edinburgh e.g Dynamic Earth and haven't received any replies.

Maybe I should take my family credit letter just in case, its worth a try.

Please help
Thanks x

I would of thought concessions would be children and OAPs as they usually get in half price.

    I've been Money Tipped!
OAP's, kids and students are clkassed as concessionary prices.

They'd never make a profit if all peeps on FTC could get them s well - lol ;)

If you're going up on the train, some train companies do deals on 2for 1 thiongs with tickets.

thongs may help get some discounts depending on the people at the admissions desk

    I haven't got one!
  • Family tax credit does not normally qualify you for concessionary tickets. You can get some concessions with a family rail card which costs £20 I think. If you are looking at specific attractions it may be possible to pick up 2-4-1 and / or free child or discount vouchers. Try the tourist offices and ebay is worth a try as people sell off their vouchers. You might find something on either the "days out" or "freebies" boards on this site.
