Advice - washing machine

Hi

We have run into trouble with our hotpoint washer/dryer. Half way through the cycle it comes up with the message 'check outlet pipes'. This has happened twice before and upon checking pipes have found a sock, money etc, once removed the problem was fixed.

This time though we have dismantled all the outlet pipes and there appears to be no blockage! Any idea what we can do next an how much roughly a repair man ma charge to come out to look at it?

Thank you!

Have you tried running a boil wash (with no washing in it) through the machine? Sometimes the sensor can get "gunked" up and a boil wash could clear it.

It's certainly worth trying before you get an engineer out...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
