My partner is useless with paperwork and took out a loan a few years back to buy a car and pay off another loan. To cut a long story short he was missold the PPI on so many levels , the 1st one being that he didnt even know he had it:eek: !.I copied out template letter from this website and included relevant info stating that they had 8 weeks in which to resolve issue etc I put the letter in the post for him and about 3 weeks later we received a letter saying that they had received our letter and would be passing it on to the complaints department where it would be thoroughly investigated sadly this would take them outside the 8 week time frame but said they would hope to have issue resolved by the 10th of Feb. So ive waited very patiently and never heard anything else. My question is now what do I do ?
Thanks

Hi you could ring them and ask whether they are going to reply and by which date. I prefer not to do this method cause they record everything you say and it may be used later.
If you send another letter reiterating your complaint and tell them they have 14 days to reply give them the date in the letter. Send by recorded letter so you know they get it tell them in the letter that you are willing to take it to the FOS.
When you have done this then post again and am sure somebody will send you onto the next step.

I got a letter just like that from HSBC. I simply used the second template letter Martin provides on this site, and added to it that their initial response was unsatisfactory.
I had a phone call from the bank the NEXT DAY, and went in to my local branch to sort it all out. Now it's been restructured I have had back £300 into my current account, and my repayments are about 20% less!
Good luck!0 -
Before I got the chance to send off second letter , a letter from HBOS arrived in the post . They admitted that the insurace policy wasnt sold in my partners best interest and so as they take all compaints seriously they would be upholding our complaint and would be in touch shortly to discuss a refund. :j In the letter it said that if his account was in arrears they would pay off the arrears and give the rest to him in the form of cheque . He has never missed a payment to the loan even though he is unemployed so does this mean he will get a cheque for the full amount ? They havent mentioned any figures either so Im not sure how they work it out ? The PPI cost £1300 two years ago and he hasnt finished the loan , does anyone know how to work out what he will get back?

Brilliant news LabLover!!! If you want help with calculations there is a poster called Turboman who is great. if you post up how much the loan was, how much the PPI was, how many payments have been made, what amount they were and at what interest rate, and length of the loan, he may be around at some point to help.DS1 12/10/04
