Fitting gas fire

I have a modern house about 12 years old front room about 11 by 16 feet. really cold in winter room.My guess is the radiator is too small as have 2 windows. There is a gas pipe put mid way long the wall ready for a gas fire but no chimney.

I would like a fire fitted to the wall. My concerns are,,,could the gas pipe be hidden with ease if I had a wall fire , could it be burrowed or is this an expensive job..I have plaster board walls. I have no immediate neighbour wall is on corner of street with about 1 meter of my land next to the pavement. Would it be better to have a flue fitted.

So many questions I know but trying to work out what is best. How much would it cost to fit a fire "hung on the wall" type?
