I think that is very misleading (and so is your thread title) if they are charging a minimum of £68.30 a day to your card. To my mind that is NOT eating and staying for free...

If your title said "pay to eat, stay for free" then fair enough...

East Kilbride is about 10 miles from Glasgow and I think this hotel is on the outskirts of EK.

DH stays here a few times a month on business and reckons it's "in the middles of nowhere" or is that just his excuse for not bringing any goodies back with him

That's very unfair. East Kilbride is a major town in beautiful Lanarkshire. There's lots to see and do. OK, it wasn't the location of major movies, like Cumbernauld, where Gregory's Girl was filmed, but it is the gateway to South Lanarkshire and the setting for the Scottish Museum of Rural Life, among many other attractions. Lorraine Kelly and Ally McCoist were born there, and the Jesus and Mary Chain came from the town. It is also a major government centre, hosting the offices of the Department for International Development and Centre One.Your husband has obviously never visited East Kilbride's six shopping malls, or he's just mean and doesn't love you because if he did he'd bring you with hm.

I don't think he was saying that East Kilbride is in the middle of nowhere, he probably meant that the Holiday Inn is in the middle of nowhere, which would be a valid comment for a lot of the Holiday Inns that I have seen.

It's just across the road from Centre One and a few minutes walk from DfID and Hairmyres Hospital.

Just what we needed to perk us up following our return to work after the Xmas break. Will definitely go back and highly recommend it!

Probably not too bad a deal, certainly I wouldn't pay £60+ prpn for room only or even B&B, but given that this is DBB it's not bad at all, assuming of course you want to go to East Kilbride!
