Need to buy a car on credit card

My wonderful car was stuck in a flood yesterday and the news is dire - it's in a critical condition! The cost of finding out exactly whats wrong with it is bad enough but a new engine is more than the car is worth. Thinking ahead, I may need to buy another car and if so, want to get the best deal going both on another car and means of purchase.

What is a good credit card that will give me airmiles - outside the euro zone would be useful as I have family in Canada. I always pay the card in full at the end of the month, so never pay interest.

Any recommendations?

Air-miles due from Lloyds TSB.....? I Personally don' think Airmiles off good value for money, have you considered a cash-back card?

Most car dealers wont accept credit cards (due to the fees) so you might need to get one that allows transfers to bank accounts. Check the Stoozing board for more info.

You'll find many will accept credit cards but only for the first 'so much'. This might be a thousand for example. It's usually with a deposit in mind I think!

I have seen one dealer offering the facility but you had to pay the cc transaction fee.

Can't remember the dealers name though.
